A longtime member of our extended oilcloth family has discovered a new use for one of our favorite products, the Bucket Buddy! The Bucket Buddy can be used for gardening, it features 15 pockets inside and out so that you can carry all of your tools, seeds, and additional supplies to and from the garden with absolute ease and style! It fits a standard 5 gallon utility bucket that can be found at any local hardware store. Recently, the Hollywood Bowl Museum commissioned Margaret and Josie Sosa to create these beautiful papel picado creations. Click here for a close-up! They remind us a lot of our own papel picado print, San Miguel, shown here in black and white. Margaret says "the museum is having a year long exhibit of Latino artists who have performed at the Bowl...for many years now, Josie and I have worked together on cutting paper. I do the drawings and then we both cut and string the paper...working on this papel has been especially gratifying for me as each sheet of papel you see in the images is 29"X19," twice the size we usually work in and in addition, we cut 4 large panels, about 38"X49," on handmade paper...working on these non-traditional sizes and paper was so inspiring and fun for me to do."

In order to provide the best quality care for your oilcloth tablecloth and/or products make sure never to machine wash. The fabric is waterproof and water will not flow through it. Common sense says to use a warm, soapy sponge. For extra shine use white vinegar and water to remove any soap film from your oilcloth. Always store your oilcloth clean and dry. Fat Tuesday Gumbo Recipe

7 oz turkey sausage

1 Tbsp Swanson Organic Olive Oil

1 boneless chicken breast

1 cup chopped onion

1 cup chopped celery

1 cup chopped bell peppers

1/4 cup chopped garlic

1 tsp Swanson Organic Thyme

1/2 tsp Swanson Organic Oregano Flakes

2 tsp Swanson Organic Paprika

1 tsp Swanson Organic Cayenne Pepper (add 1 additional tsp to make spicier)

1 tsp Swanson Organic Peppercorns, ground

1 tsp Swanson Ultra Himalayan Crystal Salt

1 tsp Swanson Organic Onion Powder

1 tsp Swanson Organic Garlic Powder

1 (28oz can) Eden Foods Diced Tomatoes with Basil

2 cups low sodium, 98% fat free chicken broth

3 Swanson Whole Organic Bay Leaves

1/4 cup wheat flour

Slice turkey sausage and place in a skillet with olive oil and fry

until lightly crisp. Remove turkey sausage and place in a bowl. Place

chicken breast in the skillet and fry on both sides. Remove chicken

breast and cut into small cubes and set to the side with the turkey

sausage.

In a separate skillet, add chopped onion, celery, bell peppers and

garlic. Saute for about 7 minutes until vegetables are tender.

Add spices, can of tomatoes, chicken broth, chicken and sausage. Bring

to a simmer. Add bay leaves and cover.

Brown the wheat flour by sprinkling it into a small, dry pan and

heating until it turns a darker brown. You will need to constantly

stir the flour so it doesn't burn.

Add browned flour to gumbo, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes.

Makes: 8 cups

Serving size: 1 cup

Today is the 122 anniversary of Vincent van Gogh's infamous severing of his own ear. Contrary to popular belief, he only cut off the lower part of his left ear. In spite of van Gogh's existense as a tortured, starving artist, his work is now highly reputed.
