Pining for Pinning

Oilcloth International has joined the Pinterest, a new kind of social networking and image adoring website that has grown exponentially in both popularity and recognition over a short period of time. In a recent article titled "This Is Everything You Need To Know About Pinterest," author Jordan Crook examines the most recent web phenomenon that is Pinterest. Crook explains that "the questions never end [regarding how Pinterest "stack[s] up against the big guys [like tumblr, Facebook, and twitter]", mainly because Pinterest kind of came out of left field and threw the entire model on its head. It's not for women, but it is mainly women...We all want to better understand it, especially considering that the network is still building itself out."

Here are some of the most interesting facts about Pinterest that Crook offers readers:

  • The number of Pinterest users to visit the site daily has gone up 145 percent since the beginning of 2012.
  • Pinterest user growth is better than that of Facebook and Twitter at the same point in their history.
  • Brands are having a helluva time leveraging Pinterest - Better Homes & Gardens has 25,000+ followers on Pinterest, compared to 21,000 on Twitter.
It's clear that Pinterest is quickly gaining an influence amongst both brands and consumers! Check out our Pinterest here and make sure to get your own, follow us, and join in on the fun!

Be All That You Can Be

"Jennifer Konstanzer, of Columbia, Mo., views the silk-screen canvases of Andy Warhol at the opening Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, of an art exhibit celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art in Sedalia, Mo. The exhibit showcases 125 art pieces from the museum's permanent collection at State Fair Community College."

Oilcloth on Dexter

After a long hiatus, Oilcloth International is back in the blogosphere! So glad to be back to blogging and celebrating all that is oilcloth! So, while I have tons of projects and people to commend via the blog, I have decided to present one of the latest and greatest oilcloth on TV glimpses! During the last season of Showtime's Dexter, the show's central character enjoyed finger food displayed upon an oilcloth tablecloth. Seeing as the show is set in Miami it's no surprise that set designers chose our Oranges Light Blue print! Oilcloth looks great on and offscreen!

Made With Love By Hannah

Made With Love By Hannah created this oilcloth apron bonnet with our Pears and Apples Red print! She says that she thought "a waterproof oilcloth apron bonnet [would] be useful for working in the yard when it's drizzling, or for collecting muddy stuff from the garden." Now that it's getting to be that time of the year, when the weather is a bit cold and wet, we think that this is the perfect oilcloth project! Click here to learn how to make your very own oilcloth apron bonnet and be sure to send us any of your oilcloth creations! Check out Hannah's blog Knick Knacks & Ric Rac!
