La Fete Nationale

Oui oui! Bastille Day was yesterday, July 14th, BUT we've just been so incredibly busy here at Oilcloth International that we didn't get a chance to post until today! Over the course of our recent trip to Paris we learned very quickly to love the Bastille neighborhood. The people, the corner cafes, hidden bars, not to mention the history will forever serve as fond reminders of our wonderful trip. Bastille Day celebrates the storming of the Bastille in 1789, a powerful symbol of the modern nation. Click here to learn more about Bastille Day! And click here to check out our gorgeous Paris print!

Paris Je'taime

Here's a photo from our recent trip to the City of Lights. We noticed this stylish lady from afar at a local flea market. Happy to report that she's topped off her supreme outfit with an oilcloth tote bag made with our Hibiscus Yellow print!

Ooh La La

We spotted this shopping cart at the Repetto store in Paris! It's quite functional and stylish in our Forever Blue print. Brigitte Bardot made Repetto ballet flat famous in the 1960's when she wore the dance shoe on the streets of Paris.

Eastsider in Paris

Check out the Eastsider LA, a website detailing the "scenes, sightings and stories from Echo Park and beyond." Recently, the Eastsider contacted us about our latest tweets in regards to the ash crisis. Check out the article "Paris is nice but it's not Highland Park", featuring a story I wrote about being stranded in Paris.

Stranded in Paris

Bonjour from Paris! First off, I must apologize for the total lack of blogging for the past 2 weeks! Members of the oilcloth team (including myself) have been vacationing in Paris since April 2nd. We were to return the 16th but due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland we are "stuck". Although we do count ourselves lucky to be in the city of lights and not stranded in an airport or worse we absolutely cannot wait to return to work and our home in LA! Our scheduled flight has been repeatedly cancelled, unfortunately we are unable to book a flight until Sunday the 25th, more than a week past our original return date. We have great people working with us in LA so that Oilcloth International can keep running smoothly; but please send us positive vibes in hopes that we get home soon!
